Analyzing Technical Elements of a Film

I chose to do the film Wakanda Forever (2022), produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore,  which is the sequel of the movie Black Panther (2018). This is an action packed, sci-fi film portraying life in Wakanda, as everyone deals with their king passing. We get to discover who becomes the new black panther as they fight for their nation's protection from the marine kingdom. The movements, angles, and shots help depict what the characters are feeling and add to the emotion the audience may feel.  This scene portrays Shuri and Okoye showing up to Riri's dorm to pick her up, so they can head to Wakanda. As the dialogue began between the characters, Riri shows resistance and in (0:05-0:06), there is a close up scene that is zoomed into her picking up an object to defend herself from these intruders, at her place. This shot was filmed with a hand-cam so that it gives a sense of alertness and anticipation about what is going to happen next and how anx...

Rule of Thirds- This picture displays the rule of third shot with Emily grabbing a book at the left side of the frame. The camera work contributes to the construction of the meaning in the picture by emphasizing the action of grabbing that book out of the whole selection. This can encourage the audience to feel intrigued about the size of Emily compared to the shelf, and the book she chose. Shallow Focus- This picture displays the shallow focus as the background of the setting is blurred. Emily appears to be standing firmly, typing on the laptop. The camera work contributes to the construction of the meaning in the picture by blurring out the background to focus on Emily and her laptop. A moment of seriousness is emphasized, as she gives all her attention to the laptop. The audience will feel curious as to what is keeping Emily's eyes so glued on to the screen.  Standard Focus- This picture displays the standard focus, as the background is blurred but, the middle and foreground app...

Julian's 10 CAMERA SHOTS/ ANGLES Low-Angle shot-  I think this shot is fascinating in the way it portrays the low angle. You get the sense that you are inside the back pack and it makes Julian appear bigger in the shot as he's looking for something in his backpack. Over-the-Shoulder-  This shot portrays Leon and Emily have a conversation and it shows a genuine bubbly conversation going on as Emily is typing on the computer. The shot is shoulder-like and personal  Point-of-View-  This shows Leon tying his shoes and you see his hands so it appears to be him looking down, kneeled on the floor. The shot shows that he took the time out of his day to tie the shoe. Nestor'S 10 CAMERA SHOTS/ ANGLES Arial   Shot -This shot shows a camera above Elizabeth lying on the couch. The shot shows a sense of comfortability that Elizabeth has while she's lying sideways. She is have a conversation over the phone and by the way she's positioned,  she might have been there for a ...
