Challenges in Filming
My team and I have already been out to film twice for our opening film and there were many setbacks. We decided to film in the afternoon, since that's when we were all available but, it was daylight's saving and the sun went down quicker. We underestimated how much time it would take the first time. There was not much planning done prior, since we thought there were not that many lines to go over. We spent over ten tries attempting to do the very first clip, because although we had the scene written out, it was a different experience in real life and some of our teammates had a hard time with adjusting. The second time we went to film, the lesson was learned that we needed to go earlier and have a plan. So, we spent time going through clips and we had to re-film almost half of the clips because of the high contrast in lighting. I was the one filming while Emily, Nestor, and Leon were acting for the clips. Although we were more prepared the second time around, there were there were still challenges. We weren't on the same page for how we wanted to film a specific clip. That took time away from completing the portion we needed to film but we eventually all agreed. Everyone handled the challenges very well, as we discussed solutions and compromised clip ideas. I would say for the most part that everyone is pulling their weight. Emily and myself are directors and editors, I film, and Nestor and Leon are the actors and we all give feedback on each other's work. There were also many walkers in the park where we filmed out so, we had to stop and put the camera down every time they came around so they do not appear in the video. Overall, with these two filming sessions, we did get a great portion of the opening scene completed. We were able to take time a go film the parts that weren't clear enough or had good quality. our mistakes from the first time allowed us to be more efficient the second time around and now we are all fully adjusted so, these mistakes won't happen again.
